Overview
The Administration for Children’s Services is hiring a Youth Development Specialist to provide direct supervision, mentoring, crisis intervention and programming for youth in NYC juvenile detention facilities.
Requirements
• Verbal de-escalation and physical intervention techniques
• Group facilitation and one-on-one mentoring
• Behavior management system implementation
• Crisis response and emergency teamwork
• Accurate observation, reporting and documentation
• Safe operation of transport vehicles (NY license may be required)
• Familiarity with youth treatment planning and interdisciplinary coordination
• Knowledge of health, safety and security protocols in juvenile facilities
