Overview

The Mayor’s Office of Education is hiring a Research and Policy Specialist to lead education policy research, data-driven program evaluation, and legislative analysis that support K-12, postsecondary, and adult learning initiatives across Philadelphia.

Requirements

• Knowledge of education law, governance, and regulatory frameworks at local, state, and federal levels • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills for interpreting complex data and evaluating programs • Experience working with large databases and familiarity with data management practices • Proficiency with statistical/data tools (experience with Stata, R, Python, or similar preferred) • Clear written and verbal communication for diverse audiences • Ability to synthesize research into actionable policy and budget recommendations • Experience monitoring legislation and preparing policy briefs
